Defensive Folding Knife II

This course focuses on the use of the folding knife as a stand-alone weapon system for when you cannot or choose not to have a handgun. This is not a knife dueling or fencing class. This course deals with the realities of using a knife, not the fantasies of Hollywood. All techniques will be linked to the InSights self-defense system.

We will review the Defensive Folding Knife I groundwork and add advanced groundwork. The majority of the course will deal with using the knife to counter a deadly force threat—either because of a disparity of force due to size, strength or skill, or when facing armed opponents or multiple attackers.

The Spyderco Clip-It or similarly styled pocketknife is an excellent companion to firearms, pepper spray, and other defensive tools in your family's layered personal protection plan. Most small pocketknives can be carried in any state, and in most foreign countries. If you can't have your handgun, have your knife!

Student Testimonials

Just finished the Defensive Folding Knife II course, and like all of the Insights courses, it gives you experiences and skills you hadn't imagined. Just realizing the fact of having to use a knife defensively in a real-time encounter is intimidating enough. At least now, I know better what to expect, what to do, and more importantly, what NOT to do!! (hint; like forget your gun!!) Big thanks to John Holschen!    ~ P. Johnson, syracuse, NY
