Ground Fighting

This one day course will give you the ability to stun and disable an attacker in a grappling situation and escape to safety. The popularity of grappling arts combined with the fact that many attacks result in a grappling situation means that every self defense practitioner should have the tools to neutralize and escape from these holds.

You will also learn to integrate other defensive devices such as OC spray or a defensive flashlight. This simple system will give you fight-stopping techniques that will work regardless of your size, strength, or physical condition.

Subjects Covered:

  • Covering, movement, kicks and strikes
  • Take-downs and recovery to standing
  • Defenses against take-downs (single and double leg)
  • Defenses against kicks, stomps, and multiple attackers
  • Escapes from the guard position, the mount position, and the cross body mount position
  • Escapes from arm bars and locks, the ankle lock, front chokes, and rear chokes

Unarmed Self Defense

Required Equipment:

Lightweight, comfortable clothing with long sleeves and long pants; Soft elbow and knee pads; Court shoes, wrestling shoes, or no shoes

Optional Equipment:

Mouth guard and groin protection
