LE Defensive Folding Knife Instructor

At the completion of this course you will be able to teach your officers to escape from deadly force grappling situations and to retain their firearm in situations that would otherwise be impossible.

The folding Clip-It style pocketknife is a superb rescue / escape tool and an excellent companion to pepper spray and your handgun. In this informative and action packed course you will learn to deploy and use your self-defense knife with great skill and to instruct others in its use.

Training topics include: Safety considerations during training and during lethal encounters, equipment selection, carry techniques, rapid deployment from carry positions, grip of the knife, types of slashes and stabs, vital and nonvital points of the anatomy, basic counterattacks, counterattack combinations, escapes from holds, defenses when downed, ground fighting and grappling with the knife, policies and procedures associated with knife carry and use, scenario based training design.

You will engage in multiple training scenarios using special training knives to "cut" your way out of mock, deadly assaults.

This course integrates defensive knife skills with your defensive handgun skills, so wear your duty gear. (Bring a dummy handgun if you have one, we have some models but may not be able to fit all holsters)
