LE Shotgun Instructor DevelopmentAt the end of this course the instructor will be able to more effectively present material to students and will be able to coach the individual shooter to a higher standard. Instructors will be able to identify errors not seen before and will be able to correct those errors quickly and effectively. Techniques will be explained in a depth not experienced before and all techniques will be linked into a coherent system of firearms usage.Subjects covered: Firearms safety as it pertains to self-defense. The basics of shoulder firing, stance, grip, sight alignment, trigger press, proper manipulation of the slide action, speed reloading, tactical reloading, malfunction drills, rapid multiple shots on single targets, rapid engagement of multiple targets, mounting of the shotgun from the ready and carry/slung positions, use of cover and concealment, rapid assumption of shooting positions prone and kneeling w/ variations, transitioning to slugs, opposite hand operation, one handed operation, shooting on the move, and weapons retention. Patterning of the user's shotgun with defensive loads will also be covered. Lectures include: Legalities concerning use of deadly force, shotgun types and modifications, ballistics as it pertains to the shotgun, and carry systems and accessories. |
